When transferring art electronically, compress all necessary items in one folder. At this time, 3M can accept PC Zip (.zip) files and Mac Stuffit (.sit or .sea) files

Hard Copy :
To accurately reproduce any file it is best that the customer include a composite and a separated printout of all files. A PDF file can be used in lieu of a paper printout to verify layout.

Flaire can supply an information sheet for artists to use when preparing a disk. Contact us for more information.

Electronic Artwork Preferences

Graphic Files Commonly known by the suffixes TIFF, GIF, PICT, EPS, or Photoshop (PSD):
• Resolution:
The factory suggests that all Bitmapped files be at a resolution of 600-1000 dpi and Halftone/Grayscale files be at a minimum of 300 dpi.
• Color:
All graphics need to be in CMYK mode. RGB is not accepted. To help prevent delays, all the graphic files need to be included on the disk. Use uncoated PMS colors.

Popular Graphic Applications Supported:
FreeHand, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Photoshop. (We try to stay current on all of the more popular programs.)

– Watch margins
– Include native files

• Photoshop (graphics)
Bitmap Mode:
– Scan or create at 600-1000 dpi – Save as LZW compressed .tif file
Grayscale Mode:
– 1 color art with various screen
– Scan or create at 300-600 dpi
– Save as LZW compressed .tif file
CMYK Mode:
– 4-color process art to print process
– Scan or create at 300-600 dpi
– Save as LZW compressed .tif or .eps file

• Illustrator (graphics)
– Use crop marks to show placement
– Do not embed images, supply them in their native application
– Scan or create at 300-600 dpi
Trap Information:
Submit artwork without trap.
Compression Schemes:
Stuffit Deluxe: Sit or Sea (Mac)
Zip: Zip (PC)
 
Fonts Supported:
Flaire supports the entire library of Adobe Post Script Type 1 fonts. Convert any text that uses fonts other than Adobe Post Script Type 1 to graphics.

Artwork Charges:
When we prepare your camera-ready artwork a fee will be charged. Estimates will be provided per individual job. $70.00 per hour.
 
Color Separations:
$350.00 minimum charge. Call for quote.
NOTE: Multiple sets, additional art charges and lead times will be quoted upon receipt of artwork. Artwork must be clean, crisp and sharp, black on white copy. No pre-screened art.
